CERES Researcher awarded
Dr. Frederik Elwert has been awarded for the best dissertation 2015 by the Deutschen Vereinigung für Religionswissenschaft (DVRW - German Association for the Study of Religion). Frederik Elwert completed his PhD-project at the Center for Religious Studies (CERES) in 2014. He conducted his project on Evangelical communities of ethnic German resettlers from Ex-USSR states in Germany. His PhD-project was supervised by Prof. Dr. Volkhard Krech (CERES) and Prof. Dr. Alexander-Kenneth Nagel (until April 2015 CERES).
It is the first time that this goes to a PhD-student of CERES. The award ceremony will take place during the IAHR world congress in Erfurt, August 2015.
Dr. Frederik Elwert research interests include various fields of the sociology of religion, digital humanities, and network analysis. He is currently coordinating the research project SeNeReKo (Semantic and Social Network Analysis as a Means to Study Religious Contacts).
